LA GRAVIERE, Hossegor/France (Monday, October 1, 2012) – Event organizers at the Quiksilver Pro France have called a lay day today, opting for better conditions projected for the coming days before resuming competition.

Event No. 7 of 10 on the 2012 ASP World Championship Tour (WCT), the Quiksilver Pro France plays a crucial role in both the hunt for the 2012 ASP World Title and the requalification campaigns of the world’s best surfers. When competition resumes, the elimination Round 2 will be up first.

“Not enough out there this morning to warrant a Round 2 start so we have called a lay day,” Rich Porta, ASP International Head Judge, said. “We anticipate a good swell to begin showing tomorrow and will be back in the morning to assess our options.”

Event organizers will reconvene tomorrow morning at 8am to assess conditions for a possible 8:30am start.

We competition resumes, up first will be current ASP WCT No. 2 Joel Parkinson (AUS), 31, up against wildcard Wiggolly Dantas (BRA), 22, in the opening heat of Round 2.
