O’Neill Women’s World Cup is On, Champion Crowned Today
SUNSET BEACH, Oahu/Hawaii (Thursday, December 2, 2010) – After nearly a week of lay days, the O’Neill Women’s World Cup of Surfing will be back on this morning in two-to four foot (1 metre) surf at Sunset Beach following the men’s ASP PRIME Round of 32.
Stop No. 8 of 8 on the ASP Women’s World Tour, the O’Neill Women’s World Cup marks the second stop of the prestigious Vans Triple Crown and is also a crucial event for women trying to requalify for a spot on the ASP Top 17 for 2011.
“We still have some swell around today and we’ll get back to action with the women this morning,” Richie Porta, O’Neill Women’s World Cup Head Judge Said. “We’ll pick back up with the Quarterfinals and plan on crowning a champion by this afternoon.”
