Small Surf Forces Lay Day for Quiksilver Pro France
Bobby Martinez (USA), 28, will face Daniel Ross (AUS), 27, in Round 2 of the Quiksilver Pro France.
CULS NUS BEACH, Hossegor/France (Tuesday, September 28, 2010) – Inconsistent one-to-two foot (0.5) metre surf is on offer this morning at Culs Nus Beach, prompting event organizers to call a lay day for Quiksilver Pro France competition.
Event No. 7 of 10 on the 2010 ASP World Tour, the Quiksilver Pro France has completed Round 1 and the opening three heats of Round 2 and will look to recommence competition as early as tomorrow.
“We’ve assessed conditions at both Culs Nus Beach and Estagnot and decided to call competition off for the day,” Rich Porta, ASP International Head Judge, said. “We expect to see a bump in swell starting tomorrow so we’ll be back in the morning to make the call.”
Event organizers will reconvene at 9am tomorrow morning to assess conditions for a possible start.
When competition resumes, up first will be Damien Hobgood (USA), 21, up against Travis Logie (ZAF), 31.
