CLOUDBREAK, Tavarua/Fiji (Monday, June 10, 2013) – The Volcom Fiji Pro is currently on hold, with event officials monitoring a building swell and the dropping tide at Cloudbreak. The next call will be made at 11am, with Rounds 3 and 4 on standby for a possible 11:15 start
Stop No. 4 of 10 on the ASP World Championship Tour (WCT), the Volcom Fiji Pro has seen three consecutive lay days due to stormy winds and smaller surf, but a new, building swell could see competition back up and running in just a few hours.
“The new swell is continuing to fill in and we’re letting the tide to drop to improve conditions before we start competition today,” Rich Porta, ASP International Head Judge said. “Next call’s scheduled for 11am for a possible 11:15 start, with the rest of Round 3 as well as Round 4 on standby.”
Up first will be Jeremy Flores (FRA), 25, against Miguel Pupo (BRA), 21, in Heat 4 Round 3 of the Volcom Fiji Pro.
