CLOUDBREAK, Tavarua/Fiji (Monday, June 10, 2013) – The Volcom Fiji Pro is currently on hold, with event officials monitoring a building swell and the changing tide at Cloudbreak. The next call will be made at 9am, with Rounds 3 and 4 on standby.
Stop No. 4 of 10 on the ASP World Championship Tour (WCT), the Volcom Fiji Pro has seen three consecutive lay days due to stormy winds and smaller surf, but a new, building swell could see competition back up and running in just a few hours.
“We’ve got a new swell on offer and are waiting for things a tide change at Cloudbreak to make the call,” Rich Porta, ASP International Head Judge said. “Next call’s scheduled for 9am for the rest of Round 3 as well as Round 4.”
Up first will be Jeremy Flores (FRA), 25, against Miguel Pupo (BRA), 21, in Heat 4 Round 3 of the Volcom Fiji Pro.
