Small Conditions Continue to Plague ASP 6-Star San Miguel Pro Zarautz

ZARAUTZ, Basque Country – Spain (Thursday, September 1, 2011) – For the third consecutive day the ASP 6-Star San Miguel Pro Zarautz presented by Euskaltel has been called Off. The new swell expected by event organizers hasn’t arrived yet and no swell was on offer today on the main beach of Zarautz.

Contest director and ASP European tour Head Judge Iain ‘Ratso’ Buchanan decided to pay close attention to the swell movement today with three different calls to make sure no wave would come unridden in Zarautz.

«We’re used to having to deal with small conditions sometimes in the European summer. We’ll probably have to do two banks either friday or saturday and we already had that a couple of weeks ago at the Lacanau event so I know all the staff is ready»  said Buchanan.

With three days remaining on the official waiting period of the San Miguel Pro Zarautz pres. by Euskaltel and the entire 77 Heats to run, there is going to be a lot of action on offer for the Basque public and the occasional tourists.

«We’re planning on finishing this event so everyone is relaxed not panicking. During these next two days we’re going to see some exciting surfing and it’s really great here in Zarautz with the public being so close to the action ! That’s one of the beauties of this place, and everyone loves being here so I’m really looking forward to the next couple of days it should be good !».

The ASP 6-Star San Miguel Pro Zarautz pres. by Euskaltel is scheduled from August 30 – 4 September, 2011. For more information, and all upcoming results, photos, video highlights, press releases and LIVE webcast log-on to; www.aspeurope.com
