TEAHUPO’O, Tahiti (Thursday, August 1, 2013) – Following a Top 10 finish in Vans U.S. Open Surfing, Adriano de Souza (BRA), 26, leader of the “Brazilian Storm”, is in training for the upcoming Billabong Pro Tahiti.
Current ASP WCT No. 7, De Souza reached the Quarterfinals of the Vans U.S. Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach last week and supported compatriot Alejo Muniz (BRA), 23, who went on to collect the big win.
“It was a great competition and I am very happy,” De Souza said. “Not only for my performance, but also for Alejo (Muniz), he really deserved it. Besides that, this was my first stage with my new partnership with Mitsubishi, which helped me a lot. Now is time for training, the waves of Tahiti are heavy.”
De Souza signed with new sponsor Mitsubishi last month and will have a vehicle awaiting him at each stop on the elite ASP World Championship Tour (WCT).
