The surf has dropped in size but the main break at Margaret River, WA is still producing quality surf in the 4 foot (1.5 meter) range for day two of the Drug Aware Margaret River Pro.
Stop No. 2 of 8 on the ASP Women’s World Championship Tour, will see the 2013 Drug Aware Margaret River Pro play a vital role in deciding this year’s ASP Women’s World Champion. The men’s Division carries an ASP PRIME rating and is the first event of that calibre this year and the field of 96 of the world’s best surfers are keen to set themselves up as front runners for 2014 ASP WCT qualification.
“There’s some really nice waves coming through this morning,” Drug Aware Margaret River Pro Head Judge Pritamo Ahrendt said. “It’s smaller than yesterday, but the sets are three to four foot, and they’re offering up some really nice sections. We’re looking at running the Women’s Round 2 followed by the remainder of the Men’s Round of 96.”
