Round 2 of Billabong Rio Pro is ON at Arpoador
ARPOADOR, Rio de Janeiro/Brazil (Wednesday, May 18, 2011) – Round 2 of the Billabong Rio Pro is LIVE at the lefthand pointbreak of Arpoador in two-to-four foot (1 metre) waves and today’s schedule is set to see the completion of Round 2 and the first six heats of Round 3.
Stop No. 3 of 11 on the men’s ASP World Title Series, the Billabong Rio Pro kicked off competition yesterday at Arpoador after a week-long holding period to complete the opening round of competition.
“We’ve returned to Arpoador this morning and will capitalize on the swell on offer to complete Round 2 and plan on running into Round 3,” Richie Porta, ASP International Head Judge said.
Up first this morning will be 2010 ASP World Runner-Up Jordy Smith (ZAF), 23, against Peterson Crisanto (BRA), 18 in Heat 1 of Round 2.
