JOAQUINA BEACH, Florianopolis/BRA (Friday, November 1, 2013) - The remaining Round 3 Men’s heats have been called ON at the HD World Junior Championships presented by Devassa in offshore two-to-four foot (1 metre) waves at Joaquina Beach. Following Men’s Round 3 action, both Men’s Round 4 and Women’s Quarterfinals are on standby, with the possible crowning of the 2013 ASP Women’s World Junior Champion this afternoon.
The prestigious ASP World Junior Championships has been claimed by some of the sport’s most iconic talent and in addition, a big result in Brazil solidifies a top slot in to crucial ASP Qualifying events for the following year.
“We’ve got some fun waves this morning and plan to finish Men’s Round 3 first thing,” Luli Pereira, ASP International Head Judge said. “We’ll monitor conditions throughout the round and currently have Men’s Round 4 and Women’s Quarterfinals on standby for this afternoon. We could even finish the Women’s event today.”
Up first this morning will be Gabriel Medina (BRA), 18, against Jake Sylvester (AUS), 20, in Heat 9 of Round 3.
