Lay Day Called for Women’s HD World Junior ChampionshipsJOAQUINA BEACH, Florianopolis/BRA (Sunday, October 27, 2013) – A lay day has been called for the Women’s HD World Junior Championships presented by Devassa, with stormy two-to-four foot (1 metre) waves on offer at Joaquina Beach in Florianopolis, Brazil.
The waiting period for the Women’s HD World Junior Championships runs from October 27 through November 3, while the men’s runs from October 29 through November 5, offering ample time to crown the prestigious 2013 ASP World Junior Champions.
“We’ve got bad winds and have called competition off for today,” Luli Pereira, ASP World Junior Championships Head Judge said. “We could see similar conditions tomorrow, but are expecting more favorable conditions in the coming days.”
Event organizers at the HD World Junior Championships will reconvene at 7:30am tomorrow morning for a possible 8am start to competition.
