TEAHUPO’O, Tahiti (Saturday, August 17, 2013) – The Billabong Pro Tahiti has been called back on this morning with the recommencement of Round 3 at 7am in clean four-to-six foot (1.5 – 2 metre) waves at Teahupo’o.
Event No. 6 of 10 on the 2013 ASP World Championship Tour (WCT), the Billabong Pro Tahiti enjoyed a sensational opening two days of competition with the world’s best surfers pushing the limits of tube-riding and shaking up the race for the 2013 ASP World Title.
“The swell has filled in overnight and we’ll be recommencing competition immediately,” Rich Porta, ASP International Head Judge, said. “With the conditions on offer today we will be looking to utilize a full day of competition which could potentially see a winner crowned by day’s end. Good luck to all our competitors today.”
Up first this morning will be Julian Wilson (AUS), 24, against Adam Melling (AUS), 28, in Heat 9 of Round 3.
