Volcom Fiji Pro Round 2 ON at Cloudbreak, Round 3 on Standby

Patrick Gudauskas (USA), 26, will take on Julian Wilson (AUS), 23, in Heat 4 of the elimination Round 2 at the Volcom Fiji Pro.

CLOUDBREAK, Tavarua/Fiji (Monday, June 4, 2012) – The Volcom Fiji Pro, Event No. 4 of 10 on the 2012 ASP World Championship Tour, has been called back on this morning with Round 2 commencing at 8:30am in clean, four-to-six foot (1.5 – 2 metre) waves at Cloudbreak.

“We have good conditions on offer this morning and sets in the five-foot (1.5 metre) plus range,” Matt Wilson, Volcom Fiji Pro Event Director, said. “Round 2 will hit the water at 8:30am and we’ve put Round 3 on standby for a possible start this afternoon.”

Yesterday bore witness to the ASP Top 34 taking on solid Cloudbreak with standout performances from Jeremy Flores (FRA), 24, Joel Parkinson (AUS), 31, Alejo Muniz (BRA), 22, and wildcard Mitch Coleborn (AUS), 25.

Today will see the world’s best tackle one another in the elimination Round 2.

Up first this morning will be Kelly Slater (USA), 40, against local wildcard Isei Tokovu (FIJ) in the opening heat of the elimination Round 2.
