HUNTINGTON BEACH, California/USA (Monday, January 31, 2011) – Last week saw Pipeline local John John Florence (HAW), 18, win his first major ASP victory at the ASP 5-Star Volcom Pipe Pro over some of the sport’s biggest names and a mass of his fellow Pipe specialists in epic Pipeline and Backdoor conditions.
Meanwhile, over in Australia, rising international talent Peterson Crisanto (BRA), 18, marched to a massive victory over a global field of under-21 talent to clinch the ASP 6-Star Hurley Pro Junior at Burley Heads to snatch the historic $25,000 first place check.
In the world of ASP longboarding, Peruvian Piccolo Clemente (PER) won the ASP LQS 6-Star Huanchaco Longboard Pro, vaulting him to the top of the ASP South American Longboard rankings.
This week will see the ASP Australasian Pro Junior Series continue with the ASP 5-Star Oakley Pro Junior at North Stradbroke Island, which will host the region’s finest under-21 talent as they hunt for a prestigious position on to the elite ASP World Junior Tour for 2011 from February 2 through 6.
