Stephanie Gilmore, Record Breaking Pace by STAB Mag
SYDNEY, New South Wales/Australia (Monday, December 27, 2010) – Stephanie Gilmore (AUS), 22, has been the frontrunner of the progressive women’s surfing movement for nearly five year now. After making ASP history as the only competitor to win four consecutive ASP World Titles in four attempts, Gilmore’s reign only strengthened in 2010 as the stylish natural-footer won 50 percent of the contests on the Women’s World Tour. STAB Magazine recently took a minute to talk about the weight of the young Aussie’s accomplishments. This… is their story…
Lisa Anderson won four world titles. Then Layne Beachley won seven. And Stephanie Gilmore (pictured here) has just taken her fourth. How likely d’ya think the chances of Steph beating Layne’s record are? At this point, it’s not unimaginable. Of the eight ASP women’s world tour events that ran in 2010, Steph won four of them. To give you some scope, Kelly won four out of the 10 men’s events for the year. For Stab’s Breakdown on Gilmore check out the
