O’Neill Women’s World Cup Competition Called Off Again
      





SUNSET BEACH, Oahu/Hawaii (Tuesday, November 30, 2010) – Event officials at the O’Neill Women’s World Cup of Surfing were forced to call competition off for a fifth consecutive day with only small one-to-two foot (.5 metre) surf on offer at Sunset Beach, but are expecting the arrival of a new swell which could have competition back on tomorrow.

With Stephanie Gilmore having wrapped up her fourth consecutive ASP Women’s World Title in Puerto Rico, the ASP Top 17 are now battling for the prestigious Vans Triple Crown title as well as the crucial ratings points on offer towards requalification for the ASP Women’s World Tour.

“Unfortunately this flat spell has continued and with only minimal surf on offer, we’ll have to call competition off again today,” Richie Porta, O’Neill Women’s World Cup Head Judge said. “The good news is that we’re expecting a bump in swell that could have us back up and running tomorrow.”

Surfline, official forecasters for the O’Neill World Cup and O’Neill Women’s World Cup are expecting a small-scale northwest swell to fill in on Wednesday and Thursday.
