OGURAGAHAMA BEACHO, Hyuga / Miyazaki (Monday, October 10th, 2011) - Event No. 7 on the 2011 ASP Japan Tour Tour, the Men’s ASP 2-Star Malibu Hyuga Pro went in to action for final day this morning at Oguragahama Beach in Miyazaki-ken and crowned 5 2011 edition champions this afternoon. The conditions at Oguragahama Beach this morning were 1 to 2 ft (0.5 meters) with clean conditions. ASP Japan Tour Head Judge Masato Kato called the elite athletes to go straight in action for dinal day at 6:30am under sunny skies.
4 surfers move to the finals for Cadet (U16).
Shuji Nishi, Yuji Mori, Ryo Kodama, and Keijiro Nishi. Shuji Nishi shows excellence and takes a win.
4 surfers move to the finals for Grom (U12).
Joe Azuchi, Yuji Nishi, Kiyoshiro Suda, and Kairi Noro. Joe Azuchi captures first victory.
4 female surfers move to the finals for LQS Women 1STAR.
Miku Uemura (JPN), Hatsumi Ui (JPN), Hiroka Yoshikawa (JPN), and Juri Warisaya (JPN).
Miku Uemura surfs with style and glides to victory.
Men’s LQS semifinal heat 1 was a showdown of Eugene Teal (JPN) and Yuji Hata (JPN) and in heat 2 was Tony Silvagni (USA) and Tatsuo Fujii (JPN). The two in form surfers Silvagni and Teal moved to the final and Silvagni took down the show and claimed the 2011 Title.
The Men’s Star Event semifinal 1 was a showdown of Yujiro Tsuji (JPN) and Izuki Tanaka (JPN) and heat 2 was Teppei Tajima (JPN) and Jun Shiba (JPN). The two in form surfers were Tsuji and Shiba, who moved to the finals and Shiba took the victory by a close score of 12.75 over Tsuji with 12.50 points.

Men’s LQS 2 Star and Women’s LQS 1 Star 、” Real B Voice Pro Longboard”
to be held October 15th and 16th at Nichinan-shi in Miyazaki-ken.
Mens 2 Star Event “Malibu Hyuga Pro” boasts the high total prize money of USD $25000 on offer. In conjunction ran the LQS mens 2 star and womens 1 star event with prize money of USD $10000 and $2000 respectively. Also the “Quiksilver King of the Grommet Hyuga ” for the cadets U-16 and grommets U-12 ran in conjunction.
This year the ASP Japan Tour moved to south Japan for the autumn and Kyushu is well known for delivering classic surf in October.
Malibu Hyuga Pro was broadcast live via internet throughout the event.
