GOLD COAST, Queensland / Australia (Monday, October 10, 2011) – Kelly Slater and Owen Wright currently sit at No. 1 and 2 on the ASP World Title Race respectively. The veteran Floridian and Aussie goofy-footer have met in the last three ASP Dream Tour event finals, a first in ASP history, with Slater taking two out of the three battles. The trifecta of Final match-ups has sparked talks of a newfound rivalry in the hunt for the ASP World Title and both Slater and Wright shared their perspective on the challenge during the Quiksilver Pro France. Here’s a look into the rivalry between 10-times World Champion Kelly Slater and the 2010 Rookie of the Year, Owen Wright. With three back-to-back finals, we haven’t seen a rivalry like this since Kelly Slater vs Andy Irons.
So the question remains … will we see these two face-off in a fourth final at the Quiksilver Pro France?
