(http://www.aspworldtour.com/2011/09/03/action-aplenty-at-the-srilankan-airlines-pro/srilankan-airlines-pro-7/)ARUGAM BAY, Sri Lanka (Saturday, September 3, 2011) – For the fifth day in a row the SriLankan Airlines Pro was greeted by clean 2 – 3 foot (1.5 meter) surf at the pristine pointbreak, Arugam Bay, Sri Lanka. The call was made that the Men’s ASP World Longboard Title event would resume and by day’s end the Quarterfinalists were decided.

Taylor Jensen (USA) surfed a near perfect heat scoring a 9.5 (out of a possible 10) as well as 9. Jensen took off deeper, rode the nose longer and attacked the lip harder than anyone else in the field so far and has well and truly stamped his authority on this event.

“I think our heat was starting to show the first signs of that new swell, it was pulsing,” Jensen said. “That was a dream heat, I was having so much fun. That 9.5 was the first wave I got out there that went all the way through, it was great! I love this wave.”

Harley Ingleby (AUS) 2009 ASP World Longboard Champion scored the first of many come from behind victories today. Ingleby was left needing a score as he paddled into a nice wave with less than two minutes on the clock. Using his trademark style and flow, he got the score and progressed to the Quarterfinals where he’ll face Hawaiian Kai Sallas.

“That was a nailbiter,” Ingleby said. “It was so close, I feel for Phil (Rajzman) because it’s tough to lose those ones. But it’s great to be through to the Quarterfinals. The forecast looks great for tomorrow, I can wait to surf this place when it’s bigger!”

Antoine Delpero (FRA) along with brother Edouard Delpero (FRA) progressed to the Quarterfinals. The French pair continue a longstanding ASP World Tour tradition of brothers competing on tour together.

“I love surfing against my brother,” Edouard said. “Hopefully we will meet up later in the contest, it’s not nice to lose, but it’s better that one of us get through.”

The Women’s 6-Star Semifinals rounded out a great day of competition. An all American final will run tomorrow with Lakey Peterson (USA) and Courtney Conlogue (USA) both impressing the judges in their Semifinal battles.

Event Forecast partners Magic Seaweed are calling for a significant increase in wave size and consistency to coincide with the final day day tomorrow. The event will be webcast live on www.srilankanairlinespro.com
