NEW PIER, Durban/SOUTH AFRICA (Tuesday, May 17, 2011) – The country’s best female surfers are preparing for South Africa’s premier all-women’s surfing event, the Roxy Wahine Cup presented by the City of Durban. The event, which has for many years been staged at Suncoast Beach, has relocated to New Pier, Durban’s ultimate performance wave, and will run on the weekend of the 18th and 19th of June. Several big surfing events have been staged over the last decade at New Pier, this is due to the consistency of the surf and the ability to offer high quality waves for world class surfing.
