Round 3 of Billabong Pipe Masters is ON, Possible ASP World Title Decided Today

Kaimana Jaquias (HAW), 20, will face off against Mick Fanning (AUS), 32, in Round 3 of the Billabong Pipe Masters.

PIPELINE, Oahu/Hawaii (Tuesday, December 10, 2013) - Round 3 of the Billabong Pipe Masters in Memory of Andy Irons has been called on in clean six foot (2 metre) waves at Pipeline and Backdoor. The Billabong Pipe Masters marks the third and final stop on the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing.


The Billabong Pipe Masters represents the pinnacle of the 2013 ASP season, crowning the ASP World Champion, Vans Triple Crown of Surfing Champion, and final qualifiers for next year’s WCT.


“We’ve seen some good barrels at Pipe and Backdoor this morning and plan on starting with Round 3,” Marty Thomas, Billabong Pipe Masters Contest Director said. “We’d like to complete the round and have currently placed Round 4 on Standby for this afternoon.”


The Billabong Pipe Masters holds a waiting period from December 8-20 and is webcast LIVE via vanstriplecrownofsurfing.com


Up first this morning will be Taj Burrow (AUS), 35, against Yadin Nicol (AUS), 28, in Heat 1 Round 3 of the Billabong Pipe Masters.
